Answer: 

• Double-check the cable connection between the DVR and your monitor.

• Try using a different HDMI or VGA cable. HDMI connections can sometimes be temperamental during initial setup; we recommend using VGA for first-time configuration.

• Make sure you have selected the correct input source on your monitor - choose HDMI if using an HDMI connection, or VGA if using a VGA connection. 

• Your monitor must support the DVR's output resolution. For best results, use a monitor with a resolution of at least 1920×1080 (1080p). For our 2K or 4K series models, a higher‑resolution display is strongly recommended to take full advantage of the video quality. We do not recommend using older monitors with low resolution support, or using a laptop as a monitor!

• If the display goes blank only after you changed the DVR's output resolution, connect the DVR to a higher‑resolution monitor, then lower the output resolution back to a compatible value.
