Analog Security Camera System

Answer:
Yes, a monitor is required for the initial setup. It allows you to view live footage and configure system settings. If you plan to use only your mobile phone for viewing, first complete the network setup using the monitor: connect the DVR to your router with an Ethernet cable, ensure the DVR has internet access, scan the QR code in the mobile app to add the device, and then you can disconnect the monitor.
-

Step 1. Connect the Cameras to the DVR and power socket. Each camera has two cable connectors, one for video, the other for power. Remember to use the 18.3m Extension Cable, 4-way Splitter, and the Power Adapter.
Step 2. Connect the DVR to the power socket using another Power Adapter.
Step 3. Connect the USB Mouse.
Step 4. Connect the DVR to your TV/monitor (at least 1920x1080p) using a HDMI, or VGA cable (Cable not provided).
Step 5. Connect the DVR to your Router using an Ethernet cable.
-
Answer:
• Double-check the cable connection between the DVR and your monitor.
• Try using a different HDMI or VGA cable. HDMI connections can sometimes be temperamental during initial setup; we recommend using VGA for first-time configuration.
• Make sure you have selected the correct input source on your monitor - choose HDMI if using an HDMI connection, or VGA if using a VGA connection.
• Your monitor must support the DVR's output resolution. For best results, use a monitor with a resolution of at least 1920×1080 (1080p). For our 2K or 4K series models, a higher‑resolution display is strongly recommended to take full advantage of the video quality. We do not recommend using older monitors with low resolution support, or using a laptop as a monitor!
• If the display goes blank only after you changed the DVR's output resolution, connect the DVR to a higher‑resolution monitor, then lower the output resolution back to a compatible value.

To install a hard drive, follow these steps:

Step 1: Power off the DVR and open the casing by removing the screws.
Step 2: Slide off the casing.
Step 3: Place the 3.5 inch SATA hard drive into the drive bay.

Step 1: Secure the hard drive using the screws provided.
Step 2: Connect the SATA data and power cables to the drive.
Step 3: Put back the casing and reinstall the screws.
-
Answer:
This typically depends on your DVR model and the resolution setting you selected for recording. Some DVRs offer "-N" resolution options (such as 4M‑N or 5M‑N), which use only half the horizontal pixel count of standard 4MP or 5MP resolutions. When you back up footage recorded at these resolutions and play it back on a PC using a media player like VLC, the aspect ratio may appear incorrect. To fix this, simply adjust the aspect ratio setting within VLC: right‑click on the video> Video > Aspect Ratio > select 16:9.

Step 1. Connect the Cameras to the NVR via an Ethernet cable.
Step 2. Connect the NVR to the power socket using another Power Adapter (48 volt).
Step 3. Connect the USB Mouse.
Step 4. Connect the NVR to your TV/monitor (at least 1920x1080p) using a HDMI, or VGA cable (Cable not provided).
Step 5. Connect the NVR to your Router using an Ethernet cable.
-
Answer:
Cause 1. The video output resolution of the NVR is not supported by the TV/Monitor.
Solution: Ensure the lowest resolution of the TV/monitor is no less than 1080p, or it won't be able to display any video from the NVR. Try to log into the NVR on LAN and change the output resolution of the NVR and try again. You can change the NVR output resolution via the menu of the NVR.
Cause 2. HDMI/VGA cable is defective.
Solution: Check whether the cable is defective by using it to connect other devices to the TV/monitor and see if it works. If it doesn't, please use another HDMI/VGA cable that is shorter than 15 m and try again.
Cause 3. NVR cannot be powered on.
Solution: Ensure the power adapter of your NVR is working. If not, please use another one to power the NVR. Check whether the LED on the adapter is on (only for Sansco PoE NVR). Check the LEDs status on the front panel of the NVR.

Answer:
Cause 1: No available channels can be distributed to the new camera.
Solution: If all channels have been assigned to cameras, and you are adding a new camera, in this case, you have to remove the cameras which are no longer in use and then manually distribute a channel to the new camera, as each camera requires a channel distribution.
Cause 2: The new camera has been distributed with the same IP address as the previously added cameras.
Solution: Delete the old IP address from that channel, and click Search to find the new IP address for the new camera, then assign this IP address to the channel and the new camera.

(In the above image, it shows all four cameras have been assigned with a channel and an IP address. You can’t add a fifth camera. If you are replacing one of the cameras, make sure to delete the IP address for that camera FIRST, and then search new IP address for the new camera before you add it to the channel.)
Cause 3: It shows "offline"/ "connection failed" on the IP channel page.
Solution: In this case, please reboot both the NVR and the camera. Then, check whether the camera is powered on by the NVR: Cover the daylight sensor, or place the camera in a dark environment. After a few seconds, if the IR LED turn on, or some sounds can be heard, it means the camera is powered on.
Also, please check whether the camera's corresponding PoE port lights. If the light is not on, please change into another working cable and another working port.

Answer:
1. Install the antennas correctly - To maximize the Wi-Fi signals, all camera antennas need to be perpendicular to the direction the camera is pointing. For example, if the camera is mounted to the ceiling and ceiling is obstructing the antenna, the antenna should be pointed down.

2. Turn on Auto Repeater (Right click the mouse > Network > Camera Repeater) when the signal of an individual camera is poor, it will automatically find the camera nearby with better signal, select the optimal channel, and set up the repeater mode.

-
Answer:
1. Format the HDD: Right click > System Setup > Storage Setup > Reformat.

2. Disconnect the hard drive from the NVR. Once it is disconnected, check whether the problem remains on the NVR. If not, re-connect the hard drive back to the NVR and test again.
3. Replace the power supply unit for the NVR.
4. If the issue remains, it could be the NVR’s fault. Please contact us immediately.

Answer:
1. Optimal height: Hang the camera 8-10 ft (2.5-3 m) above the ground.

2. Optimal angle: To ensure that no detection is missed, do not install the camera directly facing the monitoring area. Instead, maintain an angle to avoid any potential blind spots.

3. Select an optimal location for the solar panel that receives sufficient sunlight and is within a 6.6 ft (2 m) radius of the camera. Make sure the location has facilities or structures suitable for mounting the solar panel.

To absorb the most solar energy, choose the highly recommended orientation for installation based on your location.

Answer:
1. First, make sure you have good cell connection (with local carrier) in the area where the camera is being installed, and that your camera’s data plan is still valid. Note that with purchase of the camera, you receive FREE first year of unlimited data. After the free year, you need to recharge your data plan, otherwise you won’t be able to view the camera on your mobile app.
2. Secondly, one camera can only be bound with one Tuya account, if you want to view it on another phone, use the Share Device function within the app (On the live view page, tap on 。。。to the top right corner, then select Share Device).

3. Lastly, if you want to set up the camera using another Tuya account, you need to delete the camera first (Not just reset, but delete it from the app).
-
Answer:
Send us your camera’s Virtual ID (below) and we will adjust the camera to match the optimal cell connection.

-
Answer:
1. Double check whether the camera is power off, e.g. due to solar panel malfunction, no sunlight, etc.
2. To ensure a successful 4g connection of the camera, please check your mobile phone carrier’s signal in the area you would like to install the camera by looking at the strength of your mobile phone service. If there is not good mobile service in the area, this camera will not work at optimum level.
3. If your camera worked fine for some time but suddenly started to be offline all the time, you can send us your camera’s Virtual ID (below) and we will adjust the camera to match the optimal cell connection.
